Screen for the Digma R659
Remember that changing a screen of an electronic book is quite a hard work and if you are not sure in your abilities, it is better to go to the service centre. The authors are not responsible for your actions while following the recomendations written in this page.
In order to make sure that exactly this model of the screen is installed in your e-book it is necessary to disassemble your device before buying the screen. Some manufacturers of e-books install different displays into different batches of the same model!
On the flat cable of the display there are pasted some paper labels. There is given the voltage VCON as 3 numbers with a dot after the first number, which is needed for the image correction, on one of them. While on the other label which is bigger there is the model of the screen.
In e-books Digma R659 the most often installed screen is ED060XC3(LF), made by E-ink corp. (http://www.e-ink.com)
Characteristics of the screen:
- Model of the screen: ED060XC3(LF)
- Type of the screen: E-ink Pearl HD
- Diagonal, inches: 6
- Size of the working area of the screen: 91x122 mm.
- Resolution: 758 x 1024 dots
- Contrast: 12:1
- Density: 212 points per inch (ppi)
- Backlight of the screen: yes
- sensor: no
As the display ED060XC3(LF) is made with a sensor but the e-book Digma R659 does not have such a function, the flat cable of the sensor (which was not in the old screen) should be cut away before the installation of the display into the device. The functions of the flat cables can be seen here. It is likely to check the operability of the screen before it in order to have an opportunity to return it to the seller in case of a malfunction. You should hook up the display to the disassembled e-book and turn on the device for it. It looks like something of the kind этом. The model is different but the algorithm is the same.
